British National Championships 2019, Edinburgh
We had some fantastic results at the British Championships held in Edinburgh. Millie Fowler was super steady on 1m finishing in 4th place in her final. James Heatly won GOLD in the men's 1m springboard with a top score taking his first ever British National title. Yona finished just behind James in 2nd place and Ross Beatie finishing 5th which was just a fantastic result for our EDC performance divers. In the men's 3m event Yona bagged 'guest' GOLD for Jamaica with James scooping his 2nd GOLD medal winning the British National title. Ross finished in a magnificent 7th place with some superb diving. Well done lads!
Gemma showed some great diving just missing out on a Bronze medal finishing 4th in the women's 10m platform event with Lucas Thomson taking silver in the men's 10m synchro with his Dive London partner Ben Cutmore. On the final day the British Championships saw Millie and Lucas compete in the women's 3m and men's 10m respectively. Millie finished a solid prelim in 4th and then came 9th in the final, putting in some steady dives. Lucas lit up the pool in the prelims, recording a personal best score to finish 2nd. He didn't quite hit the same heights in the final, dropping a couple of dives but still finishing in 5th place. Well done everyone!
It was certainly a fantastic weekend of diving showcasing some of Britains up and coming talented divers. A big thank you to everyone that volunteered their help over the three days!
